About
I’ve never been too fond of autobiographies.
“The average person tends to either stiffen from self-consciousness or to assume an affectation because of embarrassment. These are known psychological reactions based on the desire to be photographed well. Instinctively, we fear being photographed as we truly are, afraid that our inner ugliness will be uncovered, and we wish a photograph to show us, as we would like to be pictured. We are not so much afraid that our own ugliness or meanness might be disclosed as we are that revealing such traits could be taken as tacit approval that they apply to all human beings.”
- Kaoru Shoji “A Photograph is Difficult to Take”
“Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough.”
- Emily Dickinson
“He knew that “I love you” also means “I love you more than anyone else loves you, or has loved you, or will love you,” and also “I love you in a way that way that I love no one else, and never have loved anyone else, and never will love anyone else.” He knew that it is, by love’s definition, impossible to love two people.”
- Everything is Illuminated by Johnathan Safran Foer
